Goodbye Baby Hair

I don't know what I was thinking.

I took a clipper to his beautiful, soft baby hair, and chopped it off.

My brother thinks I was posessed by a insatiable desire to fill the page for "first haircut" in Ezra's baby book--all of a sudden looking up from my work in shock, with scisors in one hand and a lock of hair in the other. WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!

I'm inconsolably miserable, and I'm never cutting his hair again. For at least the next month. (Cuz I guess a little-man business cut is cute too.)

What Have We Been Up To Lately?

Potty training (with a best friend)

Being super cute

LOVING life!

Dropping off the growth curve... :(

And promptly starting the Biggest Winner diet (Laura concoctions like... millet-green bean-lentil-egg yolk-yogurt-banana-brewer's yeast smoothies. [Oh baby, pour me a glass.]
Or on boring days just oatmeal-plum feasts)

Strawberry and pea picking with family and Gramma!

And eating TONS of field-fresh baby peas and berries!

Learning to sit!

Springtime Smiles in St. George

Over the past few weeks Felix has discovered a new secret weapon in his bag of tricks -- a completely adorable and utterly disarming smile. It's hard to resist the urge to tickle him, which brings up the curious scientific question: Is the tickling response (laughing) acquired or instinctive?

Unfortunately, the possibility of using Felix as a test subject has been thwarted by his parents, who both apparently have discovered their own deep-seated instinctive urges to unmercifully tickle his tummy, face, arms, and legs just to see that huge smile that starts in his eyes and then spreads from ear to ear in a perfect, toothless, felicitous smile.
